If you're looking for a
custom design
for your home, we can work with you to create a concept
and develop construction documents for your dream home that
reflect your individual style and needs.
When working with you to design
a custom home, the scope of project work falls into
three phases -
Discovery Meeting / Design Phase, Design Development
Phase and Final Construction Documents Phase
Discovery Meeting /
Design Phase:
Each
project starts with a no-charge initial meeting with
you, our client.
This is an initial
opportunity to discuss the project and its detail.
During the Discovery
Meeting PūrDesigns will learn about your personality,
your style and your individual lifestyle, tastes and
aspirations.
In essence, to learn
what is important to you so that
the finished project is a true reflection of you.
This is also an
opportunity to ensure that any issues are identified and
discussed before work commences on the project.
We’ll also discuss budgets and time scale so that the design
process can progress smoothly.
This meeting is
followed up with a written contract to you, our client.
Design Development Phase:
In
response to the Discovery Meeting, CAD (Computer-aided
Design) drawings/design documents are created for
discussion.
These will be presented
in the form of concept floor plans showing space
utilization as well as key structural points that are
required for the project.
After the floor plans
are established, the exterior elevations will be
developed.
This phase typically
takes a few meetings. For each meeting you will be
sent a digital copy of the plans for review.
Final Construction
Documents Phase:
Once all
elements from the Design Development Phase are agreed
on, your conceptual plans are transformed into a set of
construction documents; this is the Final Construction
Documents Phase.
In this phase, every
construction element is designed and specified. These
drawings will allow you to see your plans in detail, at
scale and with dimensions, creating a final set of plans
for use with permitting and construction.
